Essential tremor in young child

My son is 4 and has beed diagnosed with Essential tremor. His hands shake and have done so since he was 2 years old. I have heard it's uncommom in young children and Im worried that it will get worse. Has anyone else been diagnosed at such a young age? I am also wondering if occupational therapy would help. His Dr has told me to wait till he starts preschool and talk to the teachers and then we will decide if this is an option. Any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I don't know alot about this ...

My heart really goes out to you and your young one. Maybe chiropractic treatment would help. I personally, developed tremors in my hand really bad a couple months after a car accident. Because I had been in an accident I assumed I had pinched a nerve or something, and went to a chiropractor. The chiropractor also thought i had a pinched nerve or nerve damage, and treated me as such. He did however ask me to see a neurosurgeon for a diagnosis. The neurosurgeon diagnosed me with essential tremor. But....... the chiropractic treatment was very helpful in eliminating the tremors. Maybe this would help your son? My neurosurgeon said that if essential tremor is triggered by emotional or physical trauma, there is a possibility it will eventually stop. I pray this is the case for your son, and that he will not always suffer from this problem.
